The University of Dayton invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the area of Chemical Engineering commencing August 2008.  Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent and an earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Bio-engineering, or a closely related field. 

The successful candidate will be expected to 1) teach and develop undergraduate and graduate chemical engineering courses, 2) advise undergraduate and graduate students, 3) develop and maintain an externally funded research program preferably in a bio-engineering related area, 4) publish in scholarly journals, and 5) interact with the department, university and community.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as an ability to motivate and inspire students.  Of particular interest will be candidates with a bio-engineering background and research plans as the department is currently establishing a graduate program in this area.
